I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Which detective route includes the city hall?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Zurich includes Rathaus, Rathausbrücke, Grossmünster and St. Peter Church in that walking order. Your group follows a fictional case while these real places provide surroundings for the outing. Notice the city hall during the route and arrange any interior visit independently of the game. You can compare what a clue might mean before choosing an answer together, with every companion able to suggest an interpretation or ask a question. Share the prompt so the reasoning stays open to the whole team. That makes the investigation collaborative while leaving attention for the city rather than concentrating only on the phone as you continue exploring on foot.

What quest can you follow in Secrets?

Secrets of Zurich follows a fictional search with Huldrych Zwingli for the Disputation Scroll. Its route includes Ehgraben sewer tunnel at Schifflände, Grossmünster Church and Zürich Rathaus among the locations you encounter in that sequence. Choose this discovery adventure if the missing-scroll premise interests your companions more than a detective case. Keep the game’s events separate from the history of the real places along the walk. Agree on which story everyone wants to share before selecting your game, then follow one adventure together. Each player can contribute observations and possible answers, with different ideas becoming part of the discussion before the team decides how to continue through the city.

How do one team’s time, price and phone work?

Both adventures cost €19.95 per team, take around 1.5 to 2 hours and allow up to four players sharing one phone. Secrets runs in your own phone browser without an app; Sherlock Holmes uses the free Loquiz app. Flexible daily starts and 12 months of validity let you choose a suitable moment for the outing. Leave room for the walk and the tasks in your plans, with separate visits given their own time. During play, read prompts aloud or show the screen so every companion knows the current challenge. Comparing ideas can make the next answer a shared decision, keeping everyone involved even when one player is carrying the device and entering the response.

Which games pass the city hall?

Both listed Zurich adventures include the city hall on their routes.

Is the missing scroll a historical claim?

It belongs to the fictional game story, separate from the history of the real locations.

Can we choose a browser game?

Yes. Secrets of Zurich runs in your phone browser without an app.

What is the maximum team size?

Both games allow up to four players sharing one phone.
