I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which games suit teams of up to four?
Secrets of Darmstadt combines puzzles and photo tasks with stories about Marktplatz, the palace and Luisenplatz. Colleagues guide themselves, sharing observations as they follow the exploration activity on one team phone. Choose it when varied tasks sound like a good focus for your group's walk through the city together.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Darmstadt starts at Friedensplatz beside the Hessisches Landesmuseum. Its route also passes Schlossmuseum Darmstadt. This option gives colleagues a detective case to discuss while walking at their own pace. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Prepare one phone for every team and invite everyone to help with decisions during the activity.

What outdoor escape story allows five colleagues?
The Darmstadt Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Marktplatz, Stadtkirche Darmstadt and Justus-Liebig-Haus. It allows at most five players per team using one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the streets, following the story at their team's pace and discussing what to do next.
The five-player limit gives your organiser another way to arrange the group into small teams. Everyone can offer ideas while one person handles the screen. Keep competition friendly so different approaches can contribute to the shared chase. Choose the outdoor escape option when that story fits the outing, and prepare a phone for every team before gathering to begin the walking activity.
How do we coordinate a larger group?
A Darmstadt game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate the team count using the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape game. Every team uses its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.
All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. Choose the story first, assign colleagues within its limit and prepare their phones. You may begin whenever you want on any day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow room for the walk in your outing's plans, while each small team follows the self-guided activity on its own device.
