I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

What does this city game cost?

The game costs €19.95 per team, using one phone with at most 4 players; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. Use the small team arrangement when planning the activity budget and deciding who will play together. Colleagues who rarely share a task can use the puzzles as their first common subject. Keep the screen visible and invite different ideas before deciding your response. The phone holder can participate alongside the others without directing every decision. This keeps the game part of a shared conversation within each team, giving everyone room to contribute as you approach the puzzles and photo tasks together.

Which route will colleagues follow in Middelburg?

Secrets of Middelburg takes you on a self-guided puzzle walk past the Markt, the Stadhuis, Lange Jan and the Gistpoort. You play using the free Loquiz app, with photo tasks alongside the puzzles during the route. The surroundings give colleagues places to notice while the tasks offer something to solve and do together. Hear what each teammate suggests before choosing your response, and share the photo tasks as part of the activity too. Another idea may change the group’s first approach, giving you something different to discuss. This combines exploring with a game your small team actively shares rather than leaving every choice to whoever holds the phone throughout play.

How do teams begin and compare results?

All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores, with 1.5 to 2 hours allowed for the game. You can start whenever you like, with daily availability and a booking valid for 12 months. Arrange the groups and prepare the free Loquiz app on each team’s phone before beginning. Choose a starting moment that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk enough time in your outing plan for exploring and discussing the tasks. Once everyone is ready, the game becomes a clear shared activity. Afterwards, the score comparison gives the wider group a common point to return to as colleagues discuss their different ideas during play.
