I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the museum connect with Secrets?
Secrets of Ede passes Museum Oud Ede during a fictional quest to help Milo Vermeer find his stolen instrument. Its route also includes Raadhuisplein, Grotestraat Passage Entrance and Grotestraat Central Point in that walking sequence. Notice the museum during the outing and keep the game’s invented events separate from the history of the real places you encounter. Arrange any interior visit independently of the walk. Your companions can compare possible meanings of a clue before choosing an answer together, with each player able to contribute an observation or interpretation. Share the prompt so the discovery stays collaborative and leaves attention for the city, rather than concentrating only on the next step shown on the shared phone.

What investigation can you select instead?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ede includes Gemeentehuis Ede, Raadhuisplein, Oude Kerk and Torenstraat in that walking order. The fictional case gives your group clues to discuss while real locations provide changing surroundings. Choose this adventure if investigating interests your companions more than the missing-instrument quest of Secrets. Agree on which premise everyone wants before selecting your game, then focus on one shared story together. Each person can suggest possible explanations or question a first answer, helping the team decide how to respond. Keep separate interior visits outside the walking activity, giving each part of your day its own time and attention while you enjoy exploring the city on foot with your companions.
What do team price, time and phone setup involve?
Both adventures cost €19.95 per team, take around 1.5 to 2 hours and allow up to four players sharing one phone. Secrets runs in your own phone browser without an app; Sherlock Holmes uses the free Loquiz app. You can start daily at a flexible time, and the purchase stays valid for 12 months. Choose a suitable moment for the group to enjoy the route and its tasks without rushing into another plan. During play, read or show prompts to all your companions so everyone knows the current challenge. Comparing different ideas can make the next response a shared discussion, keeping the whole team involved throughout the selected adventure as you continue exploring together.
