I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the church appear in the investigation?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ede includes Gemeentehuis Ede, Raadhuisplein, Oude Kerk and Torenstraat in that walking order. These locations give your detective outing real places to encounter while the fictional case provides clues to discuss. Notice the church during the route and arrange any visit inside as a separate activity. Your companions can compare possible explanations before agreeing on an answer, with each person able to contribute an observation or question. Make the prompts accessible to the whole group so the investigation remains shared. The phone carries the case, but the walk also gives you time to look around and enjoy exploring the old centre together on foot.

What story does Secrets of Ede follow?

Secrets of Ede follows a fictional quest to help street musician Milo Vermeer recover his stolen instrument. Its route includes a stop named Ede Adventure Start, Raadhuisplein, Grotestraat Passage Entrance and Grotestraat Central Point in that sequence. Choose this discovery adventure if the missing-instrument story appeals more than a detective case. The game supplies a shared purpose while the real streets and squares provide your surroundings. Agree on which premise interests the group before selecting an adventure, then let everyone contribute to following it. Comparing ideas can make the next response a discussion, with your companions sharing decisions rather than leaving the whole activity to the person holding the phone.

How does one team play and what does it pay?

Both adventures cost €19.95 per team, take around 1.5 to 2 hours and allow up to four players sharing one phone. Secrets runs in your phone browser without an app, while Sherlock Holmes uses the free Loquiz app. You can start daily at a flexible time, and the purchase stays valid for 12 months. Choose a suitable moment when your group has room for the route and the tasks. During play, read prompts aloud or show the screen so everyone knows the current challenge. Each companion can then suggest an interpretation or answer before the group chooses how to continue, keeping the shared activity collaborative throughout the city walk.
