I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the city hall appear in the detective walk?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Gouda takes you past De Goudse Waag and Sint-Janskerk, then the city hall and Museum Gouda. This sequence gives the case different settings while your team explores on foot. Choose it if a continuing investigation is the kind of activity your companions want to discuss together.
At the city hall, give the building a moment of attention before reading onward. No admission or interior visit is specified for the game. If you want a separate visit, plan it independently of the walking activity. Clear expectations help the group balance its interest in the case with any additional time it wants at individual places.

How does the exploration activity differ?
Secrets of Gouda includes the city hall, Sint-Janskerk, Willem Vroesenhuys and Swanenburghshofje among its route stops. You explore while solving puzzles, giving your group a different activity style from the detective investigation. The walk connects several places instead of keeping the outing focused on a single landmark.
Up to four players share one phone with the free Loquiz app, as in the detective game. Let everyone hear the instruction before choosing an answer, and invite different people to explain their ideas. You can change who reads as you go. That helps the activity remain common to the whole team while the route provides real places to notice.
What practical details are the same for both games?
Both games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team of up to four players. Both offer flexible daily starts and twelve months of validity after purchase. Decide which activity style your companions prefer, then arrange a suitable date together and prepare the free Loquiz app on your shared phone.
Discuss whether the game is the main outing or part of a longer city day. Extra time at individual sights belongs alongside the game duration. A shared plan helps everyone arrive with suitable expectations, ready to work through the chosen activity while giving the city hall and the other real places their own attention along the way.
Do both routes pass the city hall?
Yes, it is listed in both walks.
Can four people play together?
Yes, up to four players use one phone per team.
Does the activity include an interior visit?

Is there a fixed departure?
