I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the street mission include the church?

The Hoorn Syndicate (outdoor escape game) passes the church, then Statencollege, Statenpoort and Noorderveemarkt. These stops give your activity a sequence of places to see while the mission carries the story onwards. Look at the church as a place in its own right before returning to the game.

A short pause can help companions notice their surroundings rather than spending the whole walk looking at the screen. Keep the way clear for others, gather when it is time to discuss the next instruction and continue together. The route supplies the places; your attention and conversation help make them part of the shared outing.

What will your team do in the outdoor escape game?

The Hoorn Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas through the city streets. It is self-guided on your phone, with up to five players forming a team. Choose it if a continuing mission gives your companions the kind of shared purpose they enjoy on a walk.

You play with the free Loquiz app on one device. Let different people explain their ideas before the team settles on an answer. The phone holder can read without having to do all the reasoning. Changing the roles as you go can help everyone stay involved in the pursuit and the city walk around it.

How can you arrange the start and the rest of your day?

The outdoor escape game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. You can begin whenever you like, every day, and the purchase stays valid for twelve months. Find a date that suits your companions and have the free Loquiz app ready on the phone your team will share.

Consider whether the activity is your main outing or part of a longer day. Additional time spent at individual sights belongs alongside the game duration. Agreeing that plan before you begin helps everyone arrive with the same expectations, ready to follow the mission while giving the places on the route some attention too.

Does the route pass the church?

Yes, the church is one of the listed stops.

Can we form one team of five?

Yes, up to five players share one phone in this game.

Is the game an indoor escape activity?

It is an outdoor escape game in the city streets.

Do we need a departure slot?

No. You can choose your own daily start within twelve months.
