I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which stories can four friends follow together?
Secrets of Rotterdam takes an exploration route from Markthal past the Cube Houses and Oude Haven, with puzzles and photo tasks. You play in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed. At most four players can join a team, sharing observations as they guide themselves through the walk.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Rotterdam follows a case from Stadhuis to Markthal and the Maritime Museum. It also allows four players per team but uses the free Loquiz app. Choose the story that your friends want to discuss while walking. A larger party can arrange several teams, with each one needing its own phone to follow the chosen game.

What outdoor escape story accommodates five players?
The Rotterdam Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes teams after Magnus and the stolen formulas past Binnenrotte, Laurenskerk and Kubuswoningen. It allows at most five players per team using one phone with the free Loquiz app. You guide yourselves through the outdoor story and walk at your own pace.
For a bachelor or bachelorette group, the five-player limit gives you another way to divide friends into smaller groups. Everyone can join the discussion while one person handles the screen. Keep rivalry between teams relaxed and use the chase as a shared opening to your celebration. Arrange a phone for every team before meeting so each group is ready to follow its activity.
How do we plan the time, cost and start?
Each Rotterdam game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate your team count using the four-player maximum for exploration or detective play, or five for the outdoor escape option. Each team uses one phone, so larger groups need several devices and bookings within those limits.
You can begin whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Choose the story first so your team arrangements fit it, then check the phone setup and assign friends. Agree a start and leave enough room for the walking activity within your celebration plans. There is no guide setting a departure for these self-guided games, leaving the beginning to your group.
Can a hen group take part?
Yes. Bachelor and bachelorette groups can play in small teams with friendly competition.
Which exploration game needs no app?
Secrets of Rotterdam runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed.
Can five guests share one detective team?
The detective game allows at most four players per team. The Rotterdam Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows five.
Is the price a per-person amount?
The price is €19.95 per team, using one phone within the selected game's player limit.
