I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which stories suit teams of up to four?

Secrets of Rotterdam takes an exploration route from Markthal past the Cube Houses and Oude Haven, with puzzles and photo tasks. It runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed, and allows at most four players per team. Colleagues can share observations while guiding themselves through the walk.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Rotterdam follows a case from Stadhuis to Markthal and the Maritime Museum. It also allows four players sharing a phone but uses the free Loquiz app. Choose the story your colleagues want to discuss, then arrange teams and prepare their devices. Everyone can offer ideas while each team follows the self-guided activity at its own pace.

What outdoor escape story allows five colleagues?

The Rotterdam Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Binnenrotte, Laurenskerk and Kubuswoningen. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the streets and follow the outdoor story at their team's pace.

That limit gives your organiser another way to divide colleagues into small groups. Everyone can help make decisions around the phone, keeping the chase shared across the team. Pick it when that story fits your outing. Keep competition friendly and give different approaches room in the discussion while every team follows the self-guided walking activity on its own device.

How can we arrange the group start and budget?

Each game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Count teams within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option. Every team uses its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.

All teams can begin at the same time and compare scores. Choose the story first, assign colleagues within its limit and check the phone setup. You can start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared beginning and allow room for the walk while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own phones.

Can our teams begin at once?

Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare scores, each using its own phone.

Which option needs no app?

Secrets of Rotterdam runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed.

Can five people share the detective game?

The detective game allows at most four players per team. The Rotterdam Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows five.

Where can we request a larger group quote?

Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.
