I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the monument appear in the exploration route?
Secrets of Rotterdam begins from the Markthal and includes St. Lawrence Church, the monument and the Cube Houses. These places give your walk different settings while puzzles and photo tasks provide the common activity. The monument is part of the route rather than a single destination you have to build the whole outing around.
Take a moment to look at the place before returning to the phone. Companions may notice different details, giving you something to discuss beyond the next task. You can then continue together, keeping the real city present alongside the activity on the screen. That balance lets the route remain a walk as well as a game.

How does your team play without installing an app?
Secrets of Rotterdam runs in your phone browser, with no app to install. Up to four players share one device and work through puzzles and photo tasks together. This gives the group a common activity while different tasks offer different ways to contribute, from explaining an answer to helping make a photograph.
Let everyone hear the instruction before the team chooses a response. One person can read while others offer their ideas, and these roles can change during the walk. A shared device need not mean a single decision-maker. Keeping the conversation open helps companions without the phone remain part of the activity throughout the outing.
What are the arrangements for time and cost?
The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you like, every day, and your purchase remains valid for twelve months. Choose a suitable date with your companions and have the phone you will share ready for browser play before beginning.
Discuss whether the game is your main outing or part of a longer city day. Any extra time you want to spend at individual places belongs alongside the game duration. With that plan clear, everyone can arrive ready for the same activity, enjoying the puzzles while leaving room to notice the monument and the other places that give the route its setting.
Is the monument on the exploration route?
Yes, it appears after St. Lawrence Church among the listed stops.
Do we need Loquiz for this game?
No, this activity runs in your phone browser without an app.
Can three people share one game?
Yes, up to four players use one phone per team.
How long is our purchase valid?
You have twelve months to choose your playing date.
