I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which exploration route includes the statue?
Secrets of Rotterdam starts from the Markthal and includes St. Lawrence Church, the Erasmus statue and the Cube Houses. These places give the walk different settings while puzzles and photo tasks provide something for your companions to share. The statue becomes part of a broader outing rather than a single landmark to reach and leave.
Take a moment to look at the sculpture before concentrating on the next task. Companions may notice different things, and a short exchange can make the stop feel shared. You can then return to the phone together, keeping the real city present alongside the activity your team has chosen to follow through the route.

How does the activity work without an app?
Secrets of Rotterdam runs in your phone browser, with no app to install, for up to four players on one device. The self-guided activity combines different task types, allowing different contributions from your companions. Someone can explain a puzzle answer while another helps arrange a photograph as the walk develops.
Let everyone hear each instruction before agreeing on an answer. A player without the phone in their hand may have another approach worth explaining. Reading and discussing can change hands during the outing, so the device holder need not manage every decision alone. This helps the activity stay common to the whole team rather than something only one person follows.
What should your group know before choosing a day?
The puzzle walk takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you like each day, and the purchase stays valid for twelve months. Choose a suitable date with your companions and have the shared phone ready for browser play before beginning your outing.
Discuss whether the game is the main activity or one part of a longer city visit. Extra time at individual places belongs alongside the game duration. With a clear common plan, everyone can arrive ready for the same walk, enjoying the tasks while giving the statue and the other real city settings attention between the decisions that carry the activity forward.
Is the statue on the exploration route?
Yes, it is one of the listed stops.
Do we need Loquiz for this game?
No, this activity runs in your phone browser without an app.
Can three people share one game?
Yes, up to four players use one phone per team.
How long is the purchase valid?
You have twelve months to choose your playing date.
