I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

You play in your own phone’s browser with no app needed and allow 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose it for the story-led search and its route including the church. Any independent visit can be planned separately around the activity. The real places give your group points to encounter, while the imagined mission supplies something to consider together as you follow the walk through Wismar.

How does the detective game include the tower?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Wismar lists Marktplatz Wismar, Alter Schwede, Wasserkunst and Marienkirche among its stops. Your group follows a fictional investigation on foot at its own pace through the free Loquiz app on your phone. The playing time is 1.5 to 2 hours. Pick it when comparing theories sounds like the activity your companions would enjoy most. The pirate mission offers another story and its own route, even though both connect to the church. Agree on your preferred experience before beginning, then follow its tasks together rather than combining both games into one outing. Each option gives your group a shared purpose while exploring the city.
How do price and flexible starting work?
A Wismar game costs €19.95 per team, with at most 4 players using one phone. You can start whenever you want, every day, and your game remains valid for 12 months. Find a suitable day with your companions and leave room for the full activity alongside any independent church plans. Check whether your choice uses the browser or Loquiz before starting. Friends, couples, families or colleagues can share the tasks and compare ideas outside. Your own group follows the self-guided experience without meeting a guide at a scheduled departure. Give everyone time to contribute, making the shared phone part of a common activity for the whole team during the walk.
Does the church feature in both games?
Yes. Secrets names the Marienkirche with its surviving tower, and Sherlock lists Marienkirche among its stops.
Is the Störtebeker mission fictional?
Yes. Reuniting Klaus Störtebeker’s crew is the storyline used by Secrets of Wismar.
Which option needs no app?
Secrets of Wismar runs in your own phone’s browser, with no app needed.
What is the duration and team limit?
Both games take 1.5 to 2 hours, with at most 4 players sharing one phone for €19.95 per team.
