I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which quest follows Klaus Störtebeker?

Secrets of Wismar asks your team to join Klaus Störtebeker on a quest to reunite his crew. It runs in the browser on your own phone without an app. Along the route you see the Wasserkunst with Nix and Nixe, the Marienkirche tower and Neue Kirche. The fictional search gives colleagues a common purpose as they walk. Take turns reading prompts and invite each teammate to offer an idea before choosing the next answer. A team of at most four keeps the discussion open to different approaches. The story provides the challenge without one colleague having to devise extra activities or guide everyone through every part of the outing.

Where does the detective game lead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Wismar takes your team from the Marktplatz to the Wassertor. On the walk you also see the Wasserkunst and Marienkirche tower. You investigate through the free Loquiz app, with one phone for at most four players. Choose this case if your colleagues would enjoy discussing a mystery as the connecting thread of their walk. Read the prompts together and consider different suggestions before deciding on an answer. Rotating the phone can help everyone contribute rather than leave all decisions with one confident player. The small team gives each colleague space to speak while the case keeps the activity focused on working together.

How do you organise the outing for teams?

Both Wismar games cost €19.95 per team and last 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and bookings are valid for 12 months. Arrange teams of at most four, each with a phone, and choose the game before gathering. All teams can begin at the same time and compare their scores after playing. Prepare the browser for the pirate quest or the free Loquiz app for the detective mystery. Larger groups can request a group quote on the website. Leave enough room for the complete walk in your schedule so colleagues can enjoy solving together before moving on to other arrangements.
