I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walks suit teams of up to four?

Secrets of Deventer starts on Broederenplein with puzzles and photo tasks along the way. You also see Broederenkerk and Deventer Theater. Colleagues guide themselves on a shared phone, discussing observations and ideas as they follow the exploration activity together. It suits a group that wants varied tasks during its walk.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Deventer follows a case from Stationsplein to Wilhelminabrug and St Lebuïnus Church. Choose it when colleagues prefer a detective story to discuss during the outing. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Arrange a phone for every team and encourage everyone to help with decisions rather than relying only on the screen holder.

What outdoor escape story accommodates five colleagues?

The Deventer Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas from Broederenplein to Museum De Waag. You also pass Geert Groote Huis. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the outdoor story at their team's pace.

The different limit gives your organiser another way to divide colleagues into small groups. Everyone can offer ideas while one person handles the screen, keeping the chase shared around the phone. Pick this option when its story fits your outing. Keep competition friendly and prepare a device for every team before gathering so colleagues are ready to follow the walking activity together.

How can a larger group organise the outing?

Each game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate the team count within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option. Every team needs its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.

All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. Choose the story before assigning colleagues so the groups fit its limit, then prepare their devices. You can begin whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow time for the walk while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own phones.

Can our teams compare results?
