I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which stories suit teams of up to four?
Secrets of Haarlem asks you to help Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer recover her spear. The walk passes Hoofdwacht, Frans Hals Museum and Gedempte Voldersgracht. It runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed, and allows at most four players per team.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Haarlem follows a case from Grote Markt past St Bavo to Teylers Museum. It also allows four players sharing a phone but uses the free Loquiz app. Choose the story your colleagues want to discuss, then arrange teams and their devices. Everyone can offer observations and ideas while each team guides itself through the chosen walking activity at its own pace.

What outdoor escape choice accommodates five?
The Haarlem Syndicate (outdoor escape game) starts on Grote Markt beside Grote of Sint-Bavokerk and follows Magnus and the stolen formulas. The route also passes Teylers Museum. It allows at most five players sharing a phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the outdoor story at their team's pace.
The different limit gives your organiser another way to arrange colleagues into small groups. Everyone can help make decisions around the phone, keeping the chase shared across the team. Choose it when that story fits your outing. Keep rivalry relaxed and prepare a device for every team before gathering so colleagues are ready to follow the walking activity together.
How can we organise a larger group outing?
A game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate team numbers within the four-player spear story and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape game. Every team needs its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.
All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. Choose the story before assigning colleagues so the groups fit its size, then check the phone setup. You may begin on any day whenever you want, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow room for the walk while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own devices.
Can teams compare results?
Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare scores, each playing on its own phone.
Which choice works without an app?

Can five colleagues share the detective game?
The detective game allows at most four players per team. The Haarlem Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows five.
How can we request a larger group price?
Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.
