I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the chapel appear along the walk?

Secrets of Nijmegen takes you past De Waagh and the Kerkboog Facade before the chapel stop. These named places give your walk a sequence to follow, with each one offering a new setting for the activity. Take time to notice where you are rather than treating the route as a string of names to get through.

The chapel stop invites a moment of attention within that sequence. Look around together before continuing with the phone. You can let one companion point out what caught their eye, then invite another view. A self-guided walk leaves the conversation in your hands, alongside the tasks that give it structure.

What will your group do during the game?

Secrets of Nijmegen combines puzzles, photo tasks and stories on a self-guided city walk. That variety lets different players take the lead at different moments. Someone who enjoys discussing a possible answer can contribute alongside a companion who prefers looking at the scene or helping arrange a photograph.

Up to four people share one phone, using the free Loquiz app. Keep the device where the group can follow what is happening, and let everyone have a say before choosing an answer. The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours, providing a defined activity that you can fit into your time in the city.

How does this differ from the detective option?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Nijmegen offers a separate kind of city activity built around an investigation. Its route takes you past Kronenburgerpark, then Commanderie Van Sint Jan and Valkhof Park. Choose that game when a continuing detective case is what your group most wants to discuss; choose the puzzle walk for its mix of tasks and stories, including the chapel stop.

Both activities cost €19.95 per team of up to four players and use the free Loquiz app on one phone. Both take 1.5 to 2 hours, offer flexible daily starts and remain valid for twelve months after purchase. Let the activity itself guide your choice.

Which game includes the chapel stop?

Can we play with two people?

Yes, two players can share one team phone.

Does the puzzle walk require an app?

Yes, it uses the free Loquiz app.

Do we have to pick a fixed departure?

No. You can start whenever you like, every day, during the twelve-month validity period.
