I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How can you approach the memorial respectfully?
The war monument is a real place of remembrance, so give it attention apart from your game. Put the phone aside for a moment, look at the memorial and let your companions do the same. A city walk can include quiet stops without turning them into entertainment or part of an invented story.
Be considerate of others who may be pausing nearby. Once your group is ready to move on, gather again and return to the walking activity. Keeping those moments distinct allows you to enjoy a shared game while treating the places along the route according to their character. The memorial deserves that space in your outing.

Which city walk passes the monument?
Secrets of Nijmegen takes you past De Waagh, the Kerkboog Facade and the Historic Chapel with its Mariken Plaque before the war monument. The route connects those places with a self-guided activity featuring puzzles, photo tasks and city stories. At the memorial, let the activity pause in your attention while you consider the real place.
Up to four players share one phone with the free Loquiz app. You can discuss tasks as a group rather than leaving everything to the device holder. Between stops, invite different companions to contribute ideas, so the walking game remains something you all take part in together.
What should you plan for the wider activity?
The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. It can be started whenever you like, every day, and the purchase stays valid for twelve months. Find a suitable date with your companions and prepare the free Loquiz app on the phone you will share.

The game provides a route and activity; your group can approach the real stops considerately. Agreeing that rhythm helps everyone understand how the walk and its different places fit together.
Does the exploration route pass the memorial?
Yes, it follows the chapel stop among the listed places.
Is remembrance part of a fictional challenge?
Treat the real memorial separately from the game activity.
What is the team limit?
Up to four players share one phone.
