I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the old city hall appear on the walk?

The The Hague Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes you from Buitenhof past Riviervismarkt and the old city hall to Paleis Noordeinde. The route connects these named places with a continuing street mission. At the city hall, look at the building before returning to the activity on the phone.

A brief stop can be enough to make a place part of your impression of the city. Let companions notice the setting and share what catches their attention, then gather to continue the game together. This balances the pursuit with the physical walk, keeping your surroundings present alongside the story your team is following.

What kind of mission does your team take on?

The The Hague Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas through the streets. You play self-guided with the free Loquiz app on one shared phone, with up to five people forming a team. Choose this activity when your companions enjoy a continuing pursuit as a reason to explore on foot.

Give everyone a chance to discuss an approach before settling on the next answer. One person can read while another explains their reasoning, and those roles can change as you go. The device carries the activity, while the whole group can contribute to the decisions and the conversation throughout the walk.

How can you fit the activity into your plans?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the outdoor escape game, which costs €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you like, every day, and the purchase stays valid for twelve months. Arrange a date with your companions and have the free Loquiz app ready on the team phone before setting out.

Decide whether the game will be your main activity or part of a longer city visit. Any extra time at individual sights should be considered separately from the game duration. A clear shared plan helps everyone arrive ready for the same outing, enjoying the mission while giving the city hall and other places their own attention.

Does the street mission pass the old city hall?

Can five people play on one phone?

Is an app needed?

Can we choose our playing date?
