I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route will your Montfoort team follow?
Secrets of Montfoort takes you past De Sint-Janskerk, Het Oude Stadhuis and the castle on a self-guided walk with puzzles and photo tasks. You use the free Loquiz app to play on your own phone. The route gives your friends surroundings to notice while the game keeps a shared task in view. Compare possible answers and hear what each teammate thinks before choosing a response. The photo tasks add another part of the activity to approach together. This gives your opening walk a purpose beyond following a route, with friends taking part in the game and enjoying time alongside the people in their small group.

How do you arrange the party into small teams?
Make teams of at most 4 players, using one phone per team. A larger bachelor or bachelorette group can play in several teams, keeping the discussion within small circles where everyone can follow. Choose whether to mix people who have just met or let familiar friends work together. The puzzles provide a common subject either way. Keep the screen visible and invite more than one suggestion before deciding what to do. Friendly competition can set the tone while the team decisions keep everyone involved. Arrange the groups in advance so the organiser can join the activity once the friends are gathered and ready to play.
What practical details help you plan the beginning?
The game lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. It is available daily, you can start whenever you like and the booking is valid for 12 months. This leaves flexibility when deciding how the stag or hen day will begin around your friends’ gathering plans. Prepare the free Loquiz app on the team phones and agree who will play together beforehand. Give the walk a clear space in the day, allowing time to discuss puzzles and share the photo tasks. Once everyone is ready, you have a common activity to begin together, with room for conversation as your group explores and plays.
