I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which exploration passes the war memorial?
Secrets of Montfoort includes the War memorial after Het Paardje and De Sint-Janskerk, then continues towards Molen De Valk in walking order. These places give the exploration its real setting, while puzzles and photo tasks provide the common activity your group follows on foot.
At the memorial, pause the game discussion and look around respectfully. A place of remembrance has its own meaning beyond its role on a route. You can return to the activity as the walk continues, leaving room for both the character of the real places and the shared tasks. Your interest in one stop can connect with a wider outing through Montfoort without making the game the sole focus of every visit.

How is the activity shared between teammates?
At most 4 players share one team on one phone, using the free Loquiz app to follow the exploration. You walk through Montfoort with puzzles and photo tasks available on a single device. Everyone can participate without needing to follow an individual screen.
Make the information part of your conversation before deciding how to approach a task. You can explain an idea, hear another suggestion and agree together what to do. Keep the choices shared so the person carrying the phone is helping the whole group take part, rather than making all the decisions during the walk.
What are the playing time and starting arrangements?
The game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours, with flexible starting every day. Your purchase remains valid for 12 months. Choose a moment that gives your group enough room for the activity within its Montfoort plans.
Keep independent sightseeing visits separate from the game duration. Before beginning, agree which phone you will share and confirm that the team has at most 4 players. Once you start, give attention to the actual surroundings as well as the tasks on the device.
