Wir (Mein Mann, unsere 9-jährige Tochter und ich) haben heute ganz spontan das Spiel "Moordmysterie Düsseldorf" gebucht und gespielt. Die Buchung verlief schnell und reibungslos. Es hat super viel Spaß gemacht! Die Story, die Rätsel, das Konzept, die Route, die Gestaltung der App... richtig gut!!! Das Spiel würde ich vor allem Familien mit Kindern empfehlen. Für Erwachsene waren die Rätsel (meiner Meinung nach) zu einfach. Aber trotzdem wegen der schönen Route durch Düsseldorf, der Story, den lustigen Anweisungen zwischendurch eine schöne Aktion, die man zusammen machen kann.

I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Secrets of Haarlem asks you to help Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer recover her spear as you explore Haarlem. Along the route you see Hoofdwacht, then Frans Hals Museum and Gedempte Voldersgracht. The game runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed. A team can include up to four players and the activity takes 1.5 to 2 hours. For a city game Haarlem built around a story, this gives you a specific search to follow through lanes and squares. Read the clues together and discuss the details that catch your attention. Each player can add a different observation as you navigate yourselves and work through the task.

What happens in the detective and pursuit stories?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Haarlem follows a detective case from Grote Markt past St Bavo to Teylers Museum. Your route takes you past St Bavo, followed by Bakenesserkerk and Teylers Museum. Up to four players can investigate together. The Haarlem Syndicate (outdoor escape game) starts on Grote Markt beside Grote of Sint-Bavokerk and sends you after Magnus and stolen formulas. Its early stops include Grote Markt, Grote of Sint-Bavokerk and Teylers Museum in that order. This game allows up to five players per team. Both stories take 1.5 to 2 hours and use the free Loquiz app on one phone. You explore on foot while working through your chosen activity together.
