Team building Antwerp: walk and solve

City games in Antwerp (3) ↓

For team building Antwerp, give colleagues a story to follow together through the streets. You can choose a city legend, a detective case or an outdoor escape chase. Small teams use their own phones and talk through decisions as they walk.

I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which games suit teams of up to four?

Secrets of Antwerp joins Silvius Brabo in tracking a shapeshifting giant. You walk past Antwerp's City Hall, Grote Markt and Het Steen, following the legend on your own phone. It runs in the browser with no app needed and allows at most four players per team.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Antwerp follows a case from Grote Markt past the cathedral to Het Steen on the Scheldt. It also allows four players sharing one phone but uses the free Loquiz app. Choose the storyline your colleagues want to discuss, then organise teams and their devices. Each team guides itself, with everyone able to contribute observations and help decide the next step of the activity.

What outdoor escape game accommodates five colleagues?

The Antwerp Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes teams after Magnus and the stolen formulas past Vlaeykensgang, Steenplein and Vleeshuis. It uses the free Loquiz app and allows at most five players per team on one phone. You guide yourselves through the outdoor story at your team's pace, discussing what to do together.

That larger team limit gives your organiser another way to divide colleagues into small groups. Everyone can offer ideas while one person handles the screen, keeping the activity shared around the phone. Choose the chase when your group wants an outdoor escape story as the focus of its outing. Prepare each team's phone and keep competition friendly as you follow the game through the streets.

How do we coordinate a larger outing?

Each Antwerp game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Count teams within the four-player legend and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option, and arrange one phone per team. For a larger group, ask for a group quote on the website.

All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Choose the story first, assign colleagues and check the phone setup it needs. You can begin whenever you want on any day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow time for the walk in your outing's plans, while each team follows the self-guided activity on its own phone.

Can teams compare their results?

Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare scores, each playing on its own phone.

Which option needs no app?

Secrets of Antwerp runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed.

What should five colleagues choose?

The Antwerp Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows at most five players per team.

How can a larger department arrange the outing?

Ask for a group quote on the website. Prepare a phone for each team within the selected game's player limit.
