I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the town hall fit into the route?
Secrets of Almere includes the town hall after Kunstlinie Almere, the Weerwater Promenade and The Tongue of Lucifer Sculpture. This sequence links your game to different kinds of places as you walk. The town hall adds a civic landmark to the outing, giving you another setting to take in along the way.
Look at the places around you as well as the screen in your hand. A self-guided game can provide direction without occupying every moment of attention. Let the group notice the surroundings, then gather around the phone when it is time to discuss a task. That balance keeps the city part of the experience.

What kind of activity will your team share?
Secrets of Almere combines puzzles and photo tasks on a self-guided walk. The changing tasks give companions different ways to contribute: someone can suggest an answer, someone else can notice a detail and another person can help with a photograph. You do not need everyone to enjoy exactly the same part of the activity.
The game runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app to install. Up to four players share that one device per team. Before you start, decide how you will keep everyone involved, especially those who are not reading the instructions. A shared screen works best with a shared conversation.
What should you arrange before heading out?
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the game and choose a time that fits your day. It costs €19.95 per team, offers a flexible start every day and remains valid for twelve months after purchase. Those details let you agree a date with your group without needing a fixed departure time.
Have the phone you will share ready for browser play. It can help to agree who begins reading, while keeping the decisions open to everybody. Once the walk is underway, you can change that arrangement to suit the group. The aim is to enjoy a common activity while exploring the route together, including your stop at the town hall.
Must we download Loquiz for this walk?
No. This game runs in your phone browser without an app.
Does it pass the town hall?
Yes. The town hall is one of its listed route stops.
How large can our team be?
Up to four players share one phone.
Can we begin on a day of our choice?
Yes, with a flexible daily start and twelve months of validity.
