I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the puzzle route include the fountain?

Secrets of Almere passes Kunstlinie Almere, the Weerwater Promenade and Almere City Hall before the fountain stop. These places bring different settings into your walk, with tasks connecting the journey between them. Take time to notice the square and fountain when you arrive rather than moving immediately to the next instruction.

The stop can be a chance to gather your group and look around together. A short exchange about what each person notices helps the city remain part of the activity. The game supplies a route and tasks, while your own attention makes the places along the way more than names on a screen.

What will you do with your team on the walk?

Secrets of Almere combines puzzles and photo tasks in a self-guided walking activity. The mix gives companions different ways to join in: someone can suggest a solution while another helps with a photograph. You have a common activity without needing everyone to prefer exactly the same kind of task.

Up to four players share one phone and play in its browser, with no app to install. Let everyone hear the instruction before you decide on an answer, and keep the discussion open to those who are not holding the phone. A shared device works well when the choices are made by the whole group.

How much time should your outing include?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the game, which costs €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you like, every day, and your purchase remains valid for twelve months. These flexible arrangements let you agree a suitable date with your companions before heading out with your team phone.

Think about whether the game will be the main activity or part of a longer day. Time spent separately at individual places should sit alongside the game duration. It helps to discuss that plan before beginning, so everyone has the same expectations and can enjoy both the tasks and the places that make up the route.

Is the fountain a listed game stop?

Yes, it appears on the Secrets route.

Do we need Loquiz for this game?

No. This activity runs in your phone browser without an app.

Can three people share one game?

Yes, the team limit is four players on one phone.

When can we choose to play?

You can start on any day within the twelve-month validity period.
