I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the castle fit into the investigation?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Almere includes Weerwater, De Nieuwe Bibliotheek, Gemeente Almere and the castle among its route stops. The walk combines city places with a case your group discusses together. The castle is one part of the outing rather than a separate attraction visit built into the game.
No admission or interior visit is specified for this stop. Treat any additional visit you want to arrange as its own part of your plans. During the activity, give the real setting attention before returning to the next instruction. That helps the walk remain connected with the places around you, not only the screen your team is sharing.

What phone setup does the detective game use?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Almere uses the free Loquiz app on one shared phone for up to four players. It is self-guided, so your own group follows the case and discusses possible answers. You have a common activity while exploring, rather than simply choosing each next destination yourselves.
Make sure everyone can hear the instruction before the team decides how to respond. One person can read while another explains a theory, and these roles can change during the walk. A companion without the device can still make a useful contribution. Sharing the conversation keeps the case open to all players throughout the outing.
How does a browser-based exploration differ?
Secrets of Almere offers a separate route from Kunstlinie Almere past the Weerwater Promenade and the city hall, with puzzles and photo tasks. It runs in your phone browser without an app. Choose the detective walk for the route that includes the castle, or this exploration game for varied tasks and a different phone setup.
Both activities take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team of up to four players. Each offers flexible daily starts and twelve months of validity after purchase. Compare the routes and activity styles with your companions, then arrange a suitable date and prepare the shared phone for the game you select.
