I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which detective route includes Mirabell Palace?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Salzburg lists Residenzplatz, Mirabell Palace, Fortress Hohensalzburg and Mozart's Birthplace among its stops. You follow a fictional murder investigation on foot at your own pace and allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the activity. The palace is one point in the wider route, while the case gives your companions a common task. Choose this experience for a detective focus during your city walk. Any independent palace visit can be planned separately around playing. Read each task with the group and consider different explanations before deciding how to continue, so everyone can help with the investigation as the route leads you between places in Salzburg.

How do you play the case without a guide?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Salzburg uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone and is self-guided. One device carries the case for your team, but everyone can take part in the reasoning. Share what the phone asks so the person holding it is not the only one who knows the next task. Friends can compare theories, a couple can solve together, and colleagues can take on a common activity outside. Your group follows the story at its own pace without a guide leading the walk. Keep independent sightseeing as separate parts of the day so the full playing time stays available for the route and its fictional investigation.

What is the team format and when can you start?

The Salzburg game costs €19.95 per team for at most 4 players sharing one phone. You can start whenever you want, every day, within 12 months of validity. Choose a suitable day with your companions and leave room for the whole activity alongside any independent palace plans. Prepare Loquiz on the device your group will use and agree to read the tasks together throughout play. That keeps the outing a shared experience rather than one person’s job on the screen. You follow the self-guided case without meeting a guide at a fixed departure, comparing suggestions and making decisions together as the investigation progresses through the city.
