I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Which settings connect the cathedral with the walk?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Salzburg passes the cathedral on a route through the old town from the Mozart statue towards the fortress hill. These real settings give the fictional case a city environment while your team has questions to work through. You can enjoy both looking around and investigating during the outing.

At the cathedral, pause to notice the building before reading another instruction. A real sight and a game story are separate parts of your exploration. If you want an independent visit as well, allow time for it alongside the activity so the walking game has room for solving without trying to absorb every other sightseeing plan.

How do the questions involve your companions?

You follow riddles and photo tasks in the free Loquiz app on one phone during the Salzburg game. At most 4 players form a team, exploring without an accompanying guide. Share each instruction aloud and consider the different suggestions before agreeing how to answer together.

A partner may interpret the challenge another way, while friends or colleagues can compare several approaches. Give those ideas a place in the conversation even when one player carries the device. You can take turns leading the next discussion as you continue walking, keeping the case a shared activity alongside the real places that provide its setting through the city.

What are the time and team-price details?

The detective game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. One phone serves at most 4 players. Decide on your companions and shared device before beginning, and reserve time for walking as well as working through the questions. Any additional visits can have separate space around the activity.

You can start whenever you want, every day, within a validity period of 12 months. Pick when the outing suits your visit to Salzburg and the people joining you.
