I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the abbey connect with the Salzburg walk?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Salzburg passes St. Peter's Abbey on a route through the old town from the Mozart statue towards the fortress hill. These real settings give your group places to notice while the fictional case offers a shared problem. The abbey's real purpose remains distinct from the detective story you follow together.
Pause to look before returning to another instruction on your phone. Seeing a place along a route and arranging an independent visit are different plans. Leave additional sightseeing time alongside the game so your companions have room for walking and solving without trying to include every other visit inside the same playing duration.

How do your companions share the detective work?
Your team solves riddles and photo tasks in the free Loquiz app using one phone. At most 4 players follow the Salzburg activity together, without an accompanying guide. Read each challenge aloud and compare the ideas before deciding how to respond as a group.
A couple can think through a question side by side, while friends or colleagues may suggest several approaches. Give another player time to explain an idea even if the device stays with the same person. Taking turns contributing keeps the fictional case open to everyone, while the real places along the walk provide more to notice between its questions than only the next solution on your screen.
What should your group arrange before starting?
The game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, with one phone for at most 4 players. Choose your shared device and companions beforehand, and reserve space for walking as well as solving. Independent visits can have separate time around the activity in your day.
You can start whenever you want, every day, and the game is valid for 12 months. Pick when the outing works for your group and your visit to Salzburg. Open the app ready to share the challenges, giving the fictional investigation time of its own while the real route offers settings to see together between questions as you continue exploring on foot.
