I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the detective route lead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Salzburg takes your team through the old town from the Mozart statue to the fortress hill. You also see Residenzplatz along the walk. You investigate at your own pace through the free Loquiz app. Choose this activity if your friends would enjoy a mystery as the thread connecting their outing. Read each prompt together so everyone can follow the case and offer an idea before deciding. The story gives the route a shared purpose without one friend needing to explain a tour to everyone else. Between decisions, the walking time leaves room for conversation while your small group works through the investigation together.

How do you divide the party into teams?

The Salzburg detective game allows at most four players to share one phone per team. Split a larger bachelor or bachelorette gathering accordingly and agree on which device each team will use before meeting. Rotate the reading role so one person does not handle every prompt and decide every answer. Give quieter friends time to explain suggestions alongside the quick answers. The small-team format keeps the discussion manageable and lets each person contribute to the same case. Friendly competition can add energy to the beginning of the day while working together gives your team a common focus. Everyone can help decide the next move as the story unfolds during the walk.

What should you arrange before friends gather?

The game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. You can start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app and arrange one phone for each team of at most four players. Settle the team division before the group meets so you can focus on the case when everyone is ready to walk. Give the full activity a clear place in your celebration schedule instead of squeezing it between other plans. That leaves room for friends to exchange ideas and enjoy playing together. Afterwards, continue with the rest of the stag or hen day you have organised.

Which app do we prepare?

The Salzburg detective game uses the free Loquiz app.

What is the team size limit?

At most four players share one phone per team.

How long does the activity take?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the game.

Do we need a fixed starting hour?

No. Start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity.
