I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What can we explore with a four-person team?

Secrets of Berlin offers puzzles and photo tasks on a self-guided walk past Martin-Gropius-Bau and the Topography of Terror. It runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed. Treat the historical places along the walk respectfully while keeping your game discussions focused on the activity.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Berlin takes a detective case through central streets, from the TV Tower past the Nikolaiviertel to Berlin Cathedral. It uses the free Loquiz app. Both choices allow at most four players per team, so divide a larger party into smaller groups before deciding which phone each team will share.

Which story lets five friends play together?

The Berlin Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas with a maximum of five players per team. Its route passes Alexanderplatz, Marienkirche and Block der Frauen. Follow the story through the streets on your own phone using the free Loquiz app, taking the walk at your team's pace.

Choose this option if your bachelor or bachelorette group wants an outdoor escape story to begin the celebration. The larger team size offers another way to arrange friends around a shared screen. Encourage everyone to contribute when the team makes decisions. Several teams will each need their own phone, so settle those arrangements before you gather to play.

How much time and money should we allow?

Each Berlin game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. The price covers one phone within the game's player limit: four for exploration or detective play, five for the outdoor escape option. Budget for several teams when your guest list is larger than one team can accommodate.

You can begin whenever you want, every day, and the booking is valid for 12 months. Pick the story first, then arrange the teams and the phone setup it needs. This self-guided activity gives you control over the start of the outing. Leave enough space in the day's plans for the walk and agree a meeting time that suits your friends.

Is a bachelorette group welcome?

Yes. The games suit a bachelor or bachelorette group looking for walking tasks and friendly team competition.

Which game works in a browser?

Secrets of Berlin runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed.

Do we need a separate phone for each team?

Yes. Each team plays using one phone, within its game's player limit.

How long can we use the booking?

Your booking is valid for 12 months. You can start whenever you want, every day.
