I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the tower become part of the activity?
The tower is the starting place for Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Berlin. You begin at a recognisable city landmark before continuing on foot with the case. The game gives the outing a direction, while the tower provides a place to gather and get everyone ready for the shared activity.
Treat the sight and the investigation as two things you can enjoy together. Take a moment to look up before opening the game, and decide how your group wants to share the phone. If you are planning a separate tower visit, leave additional time for it alongside the walking activity. Tower admission is not specified for the game.

Where does the detective walk go from here?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Berlin takes you from the tower past the Nikolaiviertel to Berlin Cathedral. Those places give the investigation a changing city setting as your team works through its case. Rather than simply choosing the next street yourselves, you have a continuing activity to bring the walk together.
Up to four players share one phone using the free Loquiz app. The activity is self-guided, so the discussion belongs to your own group. Invite everyone to offer an explanation before you settle on an answer. The phone holder can read the instructions without becoming the only person making decisions about the mystery.
What do you need to plan before playing?
Set aside 1.5 to 2 hours for the detective game and have the free Loquiz app ready. The price is €19.95 per team of up to four people. You can start whenever you like each day, and the purchase is valid for twelve months, leaving you flexibility to choose a date together.
It helps to agree what else your day should include before you begin. Additional sightseeing time is separate from the game duration. Your group can then approach the walk with the same expectations, enjoying the investigation as a common activity while leaving room in the day for any other places you want to visit.
