I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What does this walking game cost?
The game costs €19.95 per team, using one phone with at most 4 players; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. Use the small team arrangement when planning the activity budget and deciding who will play together. Colleagues who rarely share a task can use the game as their first common subject. Keep the screen visible and invite different ideas before deciding your response. The phone holder can participate alongside the others without directing every decision. This keeps the activity part of a shared conversation within each team, giving everyone room to contribute as you follow the game together throughout the walk.

Which route will colleagues explore at Zaanse Schans?
Secrets of Zaanse Schans takes you on a self-guided walk past windmills, wooden houses and riverside workshops. You play using the free Loquiz app, with the Zaandam Time Museum area and Zonnewijzerspad also among the places you see along the route. The surroundings give colleagues a setting to notice while the game offers a shared task. Hear what each teammate suggests before choosing your response together. Another idea may change the group’s first approach, giving you something different to discuss. This combines exploring with an activity your small team actively shares rather than leaving every choice to whoever is holding the phone throughout play.
How do teams begin and compare results?
All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores, with 1.5 to 2 hours allowed for the game. You can start whenever you like, with daily availability and a booking valid for 12 months. Arrange the groups and prepare the free Loquiz app on each team’s phone before beginning. Choose a starting moment that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk enough time in your outing plan for exploring and discussing the activity. Once everyone is ready, the game becomes a clear shared task. Afterwards, the score comparison gives the wider group a common point to return to as colleagues discuss the different ideas their teams considered during play.
