Martinitoren

It is the highest church tower in the city of Groningen, the Netherlands, and the bell tower of the Martinikerk. Firstly, this gothic church with a Baroque organ & a tower can be climbed for panoramic views. Lastly, the tower is located on the northeast corner of the Grote Markt.

Klimcentrum Bjoeks

This work of engineering is located in the Bjoeks climbing center or Bjoeks Klimcentrum (opened in 1997 by Gert van deer Veen and Alco Pols). This location is a dream facility for climbers (from 20 m high sport climbing walls to a Bouldering “cave”). Are you into climbing and bouldering? The Prinsentuin is a beautiful garden built in the Renaissance style located in Groningen, behind the Prinsenhof. Firstly, this garden consists of a rose garden, a herb garden, a part with berceaus and a sundial on the wall above the entrance. ‘Peerd van Ome Loeks’

This statue can be seen as one of the symbols of the Dutch city of Groningen. Firstly, the statue derives its existence from local folk lore with the same name. Over the years, several men have been named who would be the Ome Loeks. Finally, some possible candidates includ: Loeks Kuiter of Kiel-Windeweer, Loeks Hansen of Delfzijl and the stable owner Loeks Bolhuis.
